Hyderabad blasts by top IM men
The NIA and other Central intelligence agencies believe though the planning for the blasts may have been done by top Indian Mujahideen “commanders”, the “foot soldiers” did not appear to have had any previous involvement.
Highly-placed intelligence sources said following the questioning of a number of militants lodged in different jails across the country by different Central and state agencies they have reached this conclusion.
“For instance the IM module busted by Delhi police’s special cell comes closest to a possible link with the blast since one of those arrested Syed Maqbool claims he did a recce of Dilsukh Nagar last year. But no terror module would wait for more than six months to carryout a blast. So the possibility of Maqbool having any link with the present blasts seems highly unlikely,’’ a senior investigating official said. In fact, in its report intelligence agencies have pointed out that even in the triple blasts in Mumbai in 2011 where till date the actual executors have not been arrested. It was suspected that IM top operative Yasin Bhatkal had roped in two Pakistani nationals to carryout the triple blasts who fled the country after the incident.
Intelligence agencies suspect a similar modus operandi in the Hyderabad case.
