Hyderabad girl has fatal terrace party

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old student died on Sunday after falling from a three-storied under-construction building in the University of Hyderabad campus on Sunday.
Mohini Mishra from Lucknow, a second-year student of Integrated Masters, Linguistics, was allegedly partying on top of the building with her friends when the incident occurred. She was talking on her cellphone while walking on the terrace when she accidentally fell as the terrace did not have any parapet walls, said the Chandanagar police.
The incident took place at around 1.30 am and the victim succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital in the city. Police said that there were three girls and three boys with Mohini at the time of the accident. “They were having a liquor party on the terrace of the under-construction building. Her friends told us that she accidentally slipped while talking on the cellphone. She was not inebriated at that time,” said Chandanagar police inspector N. Venkateswaralu, adding that her friends were drunk when they were questioned.

Friends of Mohini Mishra, who died after falling from a three-storied under-construction building in the University of Hyderabad campus on Sunday, informed the authorities and called the 108 ambulance service after the incident.
Chief warden of UoH Debashish Acharya said that there were no guards placed near the building since it was under construction. Talking about the security measures to be taken to curb such incidents, He added that the authorities would review the situation and take a decision.
Mohini’s parents arrived on Sunday afternoon and received the body after post-mortem. The Chandannagar police has book-ed a case under CrPc 174 and started an investigation.
Mohini’s batchmates said that she and her friends had gone to the building in South Campus after 11 pm. Her friends said that she was a bright student and had done well in her First Year  examinations.
