Hyderabad to host conference for English language educators
Over 500 delegates, including speakers and presenters from Britain and South Asian nations, are expected to participate in an international conference for English language teacher educators to he beld here in January.
The city-based English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) and British Council are organising the three-day event beginning from January 24.
The conference is titled “Starting Stimulating Teacher Education and Development For English Language Teacher Educators”, EFLU’s professor Maya Pandit and Alison Barrett, an official of British Council, said here.
Scholars will deliberate on the themes of “Developing primary English teachers and teacher education policy”, “Teacher education in difficult and rural contexts”, “Role of technology in teacher education”, “Continuous professional development”, “Distance teacher education” and “Role of policy in language teacher education” among others, they said.
The meet is being held with the objectives to provide an opportunity for English language pre and in-service educators to meet and share best practice and experiences,
and also to provide opportunity for their professional development besides to establish and build a sustainable community and network of English language teacher educators, they added.
