I am daily wager for 6.5 cr people of K'taka: Karna CM
Reacting to JD-S chief H.D. Kumaraswamy's remarks that he was appointed 'like a daily wage labourer', Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda today said he was a daily wager of 6.5 crore people of Karnataka.
"Yes, I am a daily wager, but of 6.5 crore people of Karnataka," Gowda told reporters after meeting Yeddyurappa at his residence here.
Kumaraswamy had said yesterday that Gowda, who succeeded B.S. Yeddyurappa last month after he was forced to quit in the wake of the Lokayukta indictment, was 'living on borrowed time. He has been appointed like a daily wage labourer by someone else'.
Gowda said he was answerable to the people and 'no one else'.
On Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram's comment on law and order situation in the state, Gowda said it was wrong on the part of the Central government to say the law and order has gone down in the state.
"The state has been enjoying communal harmony and there has been no major issues concerning the administration," he added.
