I did not write letter on BWSSB graft: Hegde

Bengaluru: Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde, whose name is being dragged into a forged letter case that blamed certain irregularities in the BWSSB, has refused to file any complaint. He said that it could be the handiwork of a disgruntled perpetrator, who has chosen a “wrong way to express himself”.
The letter written on the letterhead of India Against Corruption with a Gaziabad address has the telephone number of a woman in Delhi. The letter alleges a multi-crore scam in the procurement of water flow meters by the BWSSB. The letter, with a forged signature of Justice Hegde, was sent to the Chief Minister's office and another copy of it was marked to the Central Vigilance Commissioner as well.Justice Hegde told Deccan Chronicle, “I have not written that letter. First of all, it is on the IAC letterhead with a fake address and wrong mobile number. I am sure it is some disgruntled contractor who may or may not be telling the truth. However, the way he chose to express himself was very wrong. Since I am not really affected by it, I will not file any policecomplaint.”
Even the office of the Lokayukta has till now not planned any action in the case. “It is more like a forgery or a cheating case and the investigation has to be taken up by the police,” said Lokayukta ADGP H.N. Satyanarayana Rao.
