I’ll be back for sure, but it might take time: Yuvi
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has played many unbeaten match-winning knocks for India, but his innings against cancer is the one he’ll remember forever.
Back home after battling his “toughest phase”, Yuvraj said illness had made him stronger, and while “making a comeback will be a big achievement”, he’ll “be back for sure”.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday for the first time since his two-month chemotherapy in the United States, Yuvraj, 30, pointed out his return will take some time as he wanted to be fully fit before stepping into the cricketing arena again. “I know all my fans want me to come back soon. They are all emotional, I understand. I’m sure even they understand my body will take time. I’ll have to take care of my health,” he said. “I’ll try to return as soon as possible, maybe in the next two months.”
The southpaw talked about the months of treatment: “It’s part and parcel of life — you fall down and get up. I’m feeling much better.” Reading cycling legend Lance Armstrong’s biography It’s Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life (on his recovery from cancer), he added, kept him going throughout.
