IAC member Mayank is accused of irregularities
A supporter of social activist Anna Hazare has alleged irregularities agai-nst India Against Corrupt-ion’s Mumbai coordinator Mayank Gandhi.
Viren Shah, president of the Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Associat-ion alleged that Mr Gandhi was secretary of an NGO Remaking of Mumbai Federation that was floated in 2007 to help his uncle to acquire land. The state government has cancelled the proposed project earlier this year due to the reported malpractices, he alleged.
“Mr Gandhi also gave giving misleading information to the tenants of Chira Bazaar,” said Mr Shah. He claimed the above allegations giving reference to documents accessed under the RTI Act.
Mr Gandhi refuted the allegations. “There was no project. The NGO was floated to help the government to plan the inner city areas. The government told us to show a project for which an agreement was to be signed for re-development. Howe-ver, this did not take place and hence there is no question of corruption,” said Mr Gandhi when contacted.
Earlier in the day, Anna Kohli, an Anna Hazare supporter had confronted Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi against allegations by his graft committee members that she was an agent of the politicians.
