IAF officer accused of sexual exploitation
A vacation bench of the Kerala High Court on Friday sought the opinion of the Southern Air Command and the Union government on a petition filed against an Air Force officer who allegedly lured a young woman by giving false marriage promise.
Justice P.S. Gopinathan issued the directive while considering a petition filed by an Ayurveda doctor based in Thrissur and adjourned the hearing.
The petitioner alleged that the Air Force officer who is posted in Awantipur, Kashmir, had sex with her after promising to marry her but later withdrew from the marriage proposal.
She had earlier filed complaints before the commanding officer of the Southern Air Command and before the Air force police against the Palakkad native.
She argued that despite repeated complaints the authorities failed to take any action against the erring officer.
The petitioner also alleged that on the promise of marriage the IAF officer sexually abused her in a moving car in December last year in Palakkad.
