IAF officer commits suicide

An Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, posted in Delhi, allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a running train near Madhopur, some 20-km from here, police said on Monday.

Sunil Sharma, aged 45, a Group Captain, took the extreme step late on Sunday, they said adding he was posted in the national capital and was a resident of Subroto Park.

A sucide note found from his pocket said he was suffering from mental depression after his son's death and wanted to commit suicide.

Sharma had come to Pathankot and was staying in a hotel before he left for hill station Dalhousie on November 13.

He, however, allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a running train near Madhopur Railway Station.

His mutilated body with bloodstains was found lying at the railway track, police said.
