IIM-I student feared drowned in Sitlamata Falls

A 25-year-old Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I) student is feared drowned in the picturesque Sitlamata Falls near here, police said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday evening under Manpur area about 50 kms from here, when Vinod Verma, a second year post graduate programme student went picnicking along with three others and ventured into the falls for a swim, police said.

Verma met a watery grave after he was swept away by strong currents, they said.

However, his body has not been recovered so far, police said.

Verma hails from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.
