Hyderabad: Secretariat employees from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions will go on indefinite strike from September 3 in protest against the state’s proposed bifurcation.
In that connection, the newly formed Secretariat Samaikyandhra Employees Forum will formally warn the government about its proposed strike on Wednesday. “We will meet chief secretary on Wednesday and will formally inform him about our plan to go on an indefinite strike,” Forum convener U. Muralikrishna told media persons on Tuesday.
Earlier, hundreds of employees organised protest demonstrations till afternoon. The employees wore black T shirts and went around Secretariat raising slogans. Since the Centre and the state government failed to respond to their 20-day long agitation they were left with no choice but to go on indefinite strike, the employees said.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Joint Action Committee leaders Devi Prasad, Vithal and Srinivas Goud appealed to the Seemandhra employees to stop attacks on the officials belonging to Telanga working. They said the Telangana employees never resorted to physical attacks on their counterparts from Seemandhra during the Telangana agitation.
Referring to the employees’ ongoing agitations in the secretariat, Telangana JAC leader Devi Prasad deplored the Seemandhra employees’s tendency to continue dictating terms to the employees belonging to Telangana.
“They still think Secretariat belongs to them,” he said adding that the agitations may lead to retaliation. We will hold sadbhavana rallies in all government offices in the city on August 22, he said.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
