India to share Samjhauta info with Pak
New Delhi has said it will share information with Islamabad on the investigation into 2007 Samjhauta Express train blast once the probe is completed. In an interview to a news channel, union home secretary G.K. Pillai said New Delhi understands the concerns of Islamabad as several Pakistani citizens were killed in Samjhauta blast but investigation has not been completed yet.
He further said, “As and when the investigation is completed and chargesheet is filed, we would definitely share the information with Pakistan.” The home secretary said he hoped that the message goes to Pakistan, which is yet to bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attack to justice, so that they also do it irrespective of who the person involved is.
“If somebody has done a crime, irrespective of who is he, what is his religion, we will go after him and make sure that he is punished,” said Mr Pillai. Prime accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case and top right wing outfit activist, Swami Aseemanand, recently confessed that he and several other top brass of radical Hindu outfits had a direct role in Malegaon and Ajmer blasts. He also confessed that he had information about the plan of 2007 Samjhauta Express blast. The home secretary, however, said, “No real investigation has taken place in Pakistan and the prosecution attempt in that country to bring the 26/11 guilty to justice, has not moved even an inch”. No key person, who was actually involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror strikes or giving directions to the attackers, has been arrested, he said adding that is not a real investigation at all.
