Indian cuisine ‘most sophisticated’: Kapil Sibal
Having travelled the globe and tasted the food of different lands, Union Minister Kapil Sibal on Tuesday could not hide his preference for Indian cuisine describing it as the ‘most sophisticated’ any culture could have offered to humanity.
"Indian cuisine is the most sophisticated cuisine that any culture has offered to humanity and we must celebrate it," he said launching a book on soup and salad by chef Devinder Kumar here.
Sibal said food and culture are intrinsically connected with the cuisine of a country giving a taste of its culture. A food aficionado himself, Sibal said he does manage to spare some time for his family, cooking as this is one of the best things he enjoys doing – cook for them.
"Many a time I say to my family that I am going to cook something for you and I do not allow others in the kitchen," he said at the function also attended by Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi.
Talking about Devinder's book, Sibal said this will be one among the many cookbooks he would have in his library.
"What he (Devinder) has done is that he has simplified the art of cooking," the Minister said.
