‘Indian Cyber Army’ hacks Pak websites
Indian Cyber Army, a hacker group, waylaid thousands of Pakistani websites, including that of the Education department, on Wednesday, the Independence Day.
Experts said that only about 1,000 hacked websites were visible but the real number was between 5,000 and 6,000.
ICA in an interview to an online magazine said the ‘Gang Bang’ assault started on August 13 night and lasted till 15th evening. On websites, ICA hoisted the Indian tricolor.
This was in retaliation for a recent attack on five Indian sites by Pakistan Cyber Army, a group of young techies.
The cyber war has since been a feature on national days of both nations, say experts. A Pakistan Cyber Army affiliate hacked into Mumbai airport site on Thursday, ticking off Indian authorities from incursions into Pak cyber space.
ICA had attacked 36 Pakistan government sites in 2010 and the State Bank of Pakistan in November last year.
On June 24 this year, Pak hackers assaulted 253 India-based sites. The most embarrassing attack against the Indian cyber world was on the CBI in December 2010.
