Indian envoy is summoned in Islamabad over firing
Indian deputy high commissioner Gopal Baglay was summoned by the Pakistan foreign ministry to protest against the firing along the Line of Control (LoC).
The Pakistan Army also lodged a strong protest for LoC violation by Indian troops in Pandu sector in which “two Pakistani soldiers were seriously wounded.”
Pakistan foreign secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani said Islamabad remains committed to a sustained and meaningful engagement with India for the resolution of outstanding issues.
“These views were expressed by foreign secretary Jalil Abbass Jilani in a written message to his Indian counterpart Sujatha Singh, congratulating her on becoming India’s foreign secretary,” said an official of the foreign ministry.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Pakistan Army lodged a strong protest for LoC violation by India.
Pakistan also strongly rejected Indian allegations of LOC violation by Pakistani troops.

Home ministry toughens stand on ties with Pak

The Union home ministry, which has till now made efforts to keep the parallel process of building people-to -people contact continue along with its efforts to nudge Pakistan to dismantle the terror infrastructure on its soil, is now toughening its stand.
Latest reports with the Intelligence Bureau show that infiltration bids in J&K are on the rise with as many as 25 incidents being reported in June and the figure is swelling every month.
“The attempts to infiltrate terrorists have increased after the formation of the new government, exposing desperate move by a section to bring Kashmir to the centrestage of the Indo-Pak talks,” a security official said.
