Inform us before detaining any Kashmiri: J&K Police to states
The Jammu and Kashmir Police has shot off letters to Anti-Terrorism Squads of various states urging them not to detain any person from the Valley without informing it.
A top J&K Police officer has written to ATS teams of various states asking them to take the state police into confidence before detaining any person from the Valley, according to police sources.
The move comes in the wake of detention of two Kashmiri men at Alwar in Rajasthan in connection with the Delhi High Court blast case.
The duo were detained as they apparently resembled the sketches of the suspects in the case.
The sources said the state police wants to avoid the feeling of unnecessary 'harassment' among Kashmiri youths during their travel to other parts of the country. Investigations have revealed that the detained duo had no connections with any terrorist outfit and were not involved in suspicious activities.
