Insider role revealed in threat letter to Ambani
Investigation into the alleged Indian Mujahideen threat letter to RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani has revealed an insider’s involvement in the case. The police is of the opinion that for such a letter to reach Mr Ambani, there has to be an inside hand involved.
Crime branch investigators, during the probe, learnt that letters or parcels addressed to the RIL chairman is first sorted out after getting delivered to their fourth floor office in Maker Chambers. Then letters are forwarded to the concerned offices who then send it to secretaries of Mr Ambani.
“Generally secretaries of Mr Ambani first read all letters and then these opened letters go to their boss. But, strangely, the RIL chairman’s six secretaries in their statement to the police have said that none of them came across this letter,” said an officer who did not wish to be named.
Further the officer added that only a bunch of very important letters are sent to Mr Ambani’s house Antilla, but someone included this letter in the bundle and ensured that the letter directly reached him. “We are now focusing on the delivery chain and trying to figure how the letter was sneaked in to Antilia. Once we catch the ‘insider’ he would definitely lead us to the source of the letter,” the officer said.
