Interlocutors hold talks with Maoists
A three-member Naxal group led by CPI (Maoist) South Bastar Regional Committee secretary Ramana, alias Ravulu Srinivas, reportedly held talks with their two interlocutors in Tadmetla forest, in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, on Saturday night to decide the fate of Sukma district collector Alex Paul Menon, in Naxal captivity since April 21.
Intelligence agencies reportedly received reports of the presence in Tadmetla forest since Saturday night of Ramana, who is from Warangal in Andhra Pradesh, and two other senior Maoist leaders — Kosa, alias Satyanarayan Rao, a senior functionary of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DSZC), and Podiya Hidma, a local rebel commander.
Hidma, a former military adviser to Jagarbandhu area committee, active in the area, had led the small action group of armed rebels — most of whom were women — constituted to execute the Maoist plan to abduct the young IAS officer from a government outreach programme at Majhipara, in Sukma district, on April 21.
