IPS suicide: CBI rules out abetment angle

The CBI, which was probing the case of suicide by senior IPS officer Rahul Sharma on March 12, 2012, has reportedly rejected the abetment angel in the incident, giving a clean chit to a police officer and a judge of Bilashpur high court, named in the deceased’s suicide note.

According to the counsel of the premier investigating agency Sandeep Choudhury, the CBI filed the closure report in the case in the CBI court here on Monday. The court has directed CBI to place all the documents relating to the case before it on September 30 to peruse before deciding on the fate of the case. Sources said the CBI in its 21-page report said the probe has found no evidence to establish that the deceased was driven to commit suicide.
