Ishrat case arms appear planted

Officers investigating the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case have made a startling revelation: that the weapons which found on the deceased after the alleged shootout did not bear any bloodstains, leading them to believe the arms may have been planted on the bodies.

The CBI has mentioned this in its chargesheet filed in a court in Ahmedabad. “This is contrary to the claims of the Gujarat police, which had said the victims were in possession of the deadly weapons. The condition in which the weapons were recovered from the spot indicate they might have been planted on the deceased after the encounter,” said sources in the CBI.
