ISI using strong base in Bangla
The ISI is using its strong base in Bangladesh as it is easier to push men and ammunition into India through the porous border, India’s most wanted terrorist Yasin Bhatkal has revealed.
Intelligence sources claimed that of late, Bangladesh was not sharing too much information on the ISI and other anti-India terror activities in its country.
The ISI, according to Bhatkal, is also laying special emphasis on the use of technology and social media to further boost its anti-India terror activities.
Bhatkal admitted that he, too, was asked to explore the possibility of touching base with some top Naxal leaders but he failed largely because being on the run, he was mostly shuttling between the UAE, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. But Bhatkal claimed the ISI was determined to involve Naxals in its subversive activities and this could have “very serious implications” for India’s internal security scenario.
The India chief of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) has also given some information about the IM’s terror network in Bihar, specially along the Indo-Nepal border. For this, the National Investigations Agency (NIA) has taken Bhatkal to Darbhanga also where he lived for some time between 2010 and 2012.
Bhatkal was taken to Jamalchak village in Darbhanga where he lived under the false identity of a Unani doctor. He was largely responsible for raising the IM’s Darbhanga module that comprised youth from the region.
