IT. CDR sacked for affair with officer’s wife
Defence minister A.K. Antony on Friday ordered the dismissal of a Navy lieutenant commander for having entered into a relationship with another officer’s wife, a punishable offence termed as “stealing the affections of a brother officer’s wife”.
The Union defence minister took the decision after an enquiry ordered earlier by the Navy had recommended dismissal of the officer.
MoD sources, however, did not confirm the name of the officer.
In a separate case, as reported by this newspaper on Thursday, the Navy was hit by another controversy in Kochi after the young wife of a Navy lieutenant levelled allegations of sexual abuse against a few naval officers, including her husband. Mr Antony has already sought a report on the matter.
