Italian ship to get back to work soon
The vessel Enrica Lexie involved in the fishermen killing incident would be back into business in two days, said Pio Schiano Lomoriello, managing director of Dolphin Tankers (fratelli d’ amato) and owners of the vessel.
The vessel that left the Indian coast late on Saturday headed straight to Colombo, the head office of the Dolphin Tankers, and will then proceed to West Asia for transporting oil via Suez Canal.
He added that the company incurred a heavy loss of around Rs 250 crore, but the lives of two fishermen were something irreplaceable. “We are happy that we got a favorable order from the registrar general,” Mr Schiano said.
“The crew along with captain Umberto Vittelli suffered a lot. The Indian crew also was disappointed. Fifty per cent of the crew will be disembarked at Colombo,”
