Jagan’s yatra crisis may not be over yet
Mr Jaganmohan Reddy tried several times to convince the Congress high command of his Odarpu yatra’s objective but to no avail. Around a week back, he had called on Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, accompanied by his mother, sister and wife to explain to her the reasons behind his Odarpu yatra. It was said that the Congress chief
gave them a patient hearing then. But the decision of the Congress president was not revealed then. Now, it has become official — the Congress disapproves of Mr Reddy’s yatra. But it looks highly unlikely that Jagan will bow to the demands of the party. In an open letter to the people of his state, he has said Mrs Sonia Gandhi had suggested to him to assemble all the families at one place and offer them financial help. He adds that it is not about financial assistance but sharing their grief and consoling them. It remains to be seen how this issue plays out in the coming days.
