The CBI which filed chargesheets against Kadapa MP, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and 12 others, has alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy, had abetted his father and former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy to commit the offence of criminal misconduct that attracts the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The CBI has alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy used his influence and his father’s office to get investments in his companies as a return for favours.

“Jagan actively prevailed upon his father YSR to commit offence under the Pre-vention of Corruption Act who in turn prevailed over IAS official B.P. Acharya and another official of AP-IIC, Y.V.L. Prasad to materialise the nefarious deal of allotting lands to Aurob-indo and Hetero by violating the norms,” it said.

In its chargesheet, the CBI has not mentioned other key accused named in the FIR such as Nimma-gadda Prasad, Potluri Vara Prasad, Penna Pratap Reddy and others who, according to the FIR, invested hundreds of crores of rupees in Jaganmohan Reddy’s firms. Their names are likely to be mentioned in the next chargesheet.

Vijay sai solicited bribes: CBI

The CBI alleged V. Vijay Sai Reddy acted as an agent to solicit bribes in the form of investments from the companies and individuals who received benefits from YSR government.

Investigations revealed that Mr K. Nityananda Reddy of Aurobindo and Mr M. Srinivas Reddy of Hetero conspired with YSR and B.P. Acharya, and were allotted 75 acres of land at the Jadcherla SEZ at the rate of Rs 7 lakh per acre, which was much below the rate fixed by the price fixation panel, and caused a loss of Rs 17.2 crore to the exchequer.

As a quid pro quo, Aurobindo, through the relatives of its MD Nitayanda Reddy, invested Rs 3 crore in Jagati Publications.

Hetero invested Rs 4.5 crore in Jagati and Rs 15 crore in Janani Infrastructure.

Jaganmohan Reddy and Vijay Sai Reddy furnished false information to accounting firm Deloitte to justify the fixing of a high premium for shares.
