Jagan case: SC notice to 6 AP ministers, 8 IAS officers
In a new twist to the politically sensitive disproportionate assets case against YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy, the Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to six Andhra Pradesh ministers, eight IAS officers on a plea for extending the ongoing CBI investigation against him to these persons too.
A bench of Justices Dalveer Bhandari and Dipak Misra also issued notices to the CBI seeking its response to a special leave petition alleging that the investigating agency is going “soft” against the six ministers and the eight top officers who allegedly had helped Jaganmohan to amass huge assets during the tenure of his late father YSR Reddy as chief minister of the state.
The six ministers whose responses were sought by the apex court are; J. Geetha Reddy, Sabitha Reddy, Dharmana Pras-ada Rao, Ponnala Laksh-maiah, K. Lakshminara-yna and M. Venkataram-ana Rao. The eight IAS officers named as respondents include Manmohan Singh, Y. Srilakshmi, M. Samuel, Aditya Nath Das, S.V. Prasad, K. Ratna Prabha, C.V.S.K. Sarma and B. Sam Bob.
