Jagan may join YSR Congress
Instead of floating his own party, former Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy might join the YSR Congress Party and gradually take it over. The YSR Congress Party, which was recently registered with the Election Commission, was floated by a die-hard fan of late YSR, K. Siva Sanker of Maheswaram mandal in Ranga Reddy district,
Sources in the Jagan Mohan Reddy camp said that if the new party, as was envisaged by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, did not materialise by March, they will go with the fall back option of joining the YSR Congress.
“We have applied for a new party named ‘YSR Party’ or ‘Rajanna Rajyam’ for which we have completed all formalities including the clarification sought by the Election Commission and we hope we will get it by March,” said a source. But in case the process gets delayed, they plan to join the YSR Congress Party. “We have contacted Mr Siva Sanker. We have no problem in joining the YSR Congress Party and at a later stage we can take over the party,” a source told this newspaper.
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy had been planning to launch his new party sometime in March, which will coincide with the announcement of bypolls for the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly.
“He will launch his party activities at the Idupulapaya YSR Memorial Ghat and then start campaigning in Kadapa,” the source added.
