Jagan's arrest to be X factor in bypoll campaign

The arrest of YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Re-ddy will have a big impact on the 18 Assembly segments and the Nellore Lok Sabha seat that are going in for bypolls on June 12.

Party MLC Jupudi Prabhakar Rao said on Sunday night that following the arrest of the Kadapa MP, his mother and Pulivendula MLA Y.S. Vijayalakshmi will hit the roads and campaign for the YSR Congress candidates.

Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said, “We will continue the legal fight and Vijayamma will lead us and the campaign.”

According to surveys and opinion polls, YSR Congr-ess candidates have established a clear lead over others in 14 Assembly segm-ents and in the Nellore Lok Sabha seat.

And with the arrest of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief campaigner and president of the YSR Congress, there will be a sympathy wave in favour of YSR candidates in the coming days, feel poll experts.

Ms Vijayalakshmi, campaigning for the first time outside her Pulivendula segment, will be an added advantage.
