Jagjit Singh still in ICU, but stable: doctors
Ghazal king Jagjit Singh, who was operated upon at Lilavati Hospital here after suffering a brain haemorrhage, is still in the Intensive Care Unit, doctors said on Sunday.
The 70-year-old legend was admitted to the hospital in suburban Bandra on Friday morning and he underwent a surgery on the same day.
"He is still in the ICU and will be there till his health improves. Since the patient is in ICU, it means he is under observation... He is on life support system and ventilator. He seems to be stable," Dr Sudhir Dagaonkar of the hospital told the media.
Brain hemorrhage is a known complication of uncontrolled hypertension or high blood pressure.
In January 1998, Singh had suffered a heart attack, which led him to quit smoking. In October 2007, he was hospitalised following blood circulation problems.
