Jaitley: Assam to vote for change
Senior BJP leacer Arun Jaitley on Sunday claimed that the people of Assam are fed up with the corrupt rule of the Congress and will vote for a change in the forthcoming Assembly election in the state.
Addressing a large gathering at Darbar Field in Upper Assam’s Sibsagar district, Mr Jaitley said, “Corruption, both at the centre and state, has made the people angry and they are certainly going to vote out the ruling Congress party.”
“The Congress has created history with the level of corruption in the 2G spectrum case, where people are not even able to count the number of zeros in the `1.76 lakh crore scam,” he said.
Claiming that the Congress has neglected the people in the state, Mr Jaitley said, “If Congress had spent only 10 per cent of money looted in the 2G spectrum scam in the development of North-East, the entire scenario of the region would have been different.”
He further alleged that the Congress has failed to understand the needs of the people and have done nothing to solve their problems.
