Jaitly, George brothers barred from his house?

The official residence of the ailing senior JD(U) leader and former defence minister George Fernandes witnessed his close aid Jaya Jaitly and two brothers, Michael and Richard, slugging it out with the police to get an entry into the premise but were denied. The three-hour long stand-off continued at 3, Krishna Menon Marg in the presence of a full strength media, with Ms Jaitly and the two brothers pleading that they had come to collect their belongings only.

Ms Jaitly told reporters that she had come to the gate of the residence to collect her goods only but the police were called in by “certain people” to stop her from entering into the premise. “My dining table, a couple of tables, books, some Burmese paintings are lying at the residence. Now that the tenure of George sahab is coming to an end, I am afraid that my goods will all be dumped and hence I came here but I am being denied entry,” stated Ms Jaitly.
The police, however, stated that they came to the premises after a complaint was lodged against those trying to force their entry into the residence of the ailing leader.
A disappointed Ms Jaitly, who had come at the gate of the residence along with her friends, said “these people are defaming the legacy of George sahab who never closed his doors to anybody.”
However, the caretaker of 3, Krishna Menon Marg, Mr S.D. Singh stated that he had no objection to Ms Jaitly visiting the premise but she should come alone. To this Ms Jaitly countered by saying, “How can she lift the dining table alone”. She also claimed that she had come here only after getting the consent of Leila Kabir, wife of the ailing leader, who is staying at a rented premise in Panchsheel Park.
The two brothers of the ailing leader, Richard and Michael, have been fighting legal battle against Mrs Kabir to get access to the ailing leader.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
