Jamshed treated me like a dog: Madhuri
A week before the expiry of the stipulated 90-day period, the Delhi police on Tuesday filed chargesheet against beleaguered diplomat Madhuri Gupta, accusing her of passing classified information to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) operative, Jamshed, alias Jim, and Mubshar Raza Rana, an ISI official.
Filing the chargesheet in the Tis Hazari Court of chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) Kaveri Baweja, the police alleged that a letter written by Gupta to Rana on October 3, 2009, in which she said, “I have done my best for him (Jamshed) and for his sake, but he treats me like a dog.”
The letter quoted in the chargesheet, which was running over 700 pages, said, “He has no consideration for me nor does he make any effort to understand my position. Till we are married and till I am in the present job, I have to behave accordingly. But Jim has strong objections to my socialising with any Pakistani...I am not used to sitting at home in purdah.”
The chargesheet further alleged that “The contents of an email showed that she was in love with Jim (Jamshed). Both had planned to get married. It is further very clear from the contents that Jim is a Pakistani. The motive is clear and established from the email.”
The police, in its chargesheet, claimed that Gupta allegedly got in touch with Rana and Jamshed after her introduction to them by Javed Rashid, a journalist of Jung newspaper.
The chargesheet said that Rana allegedly created an email ID for her and asked her to send information to a particular email ID.
