Jat protest continues, rail track blocked
There was no breakthrough in the jat agitation on Saturday as jat protesters blocked the rail track, sitting with the body of a youth allegedly killed in police firing.
The jat community has called for a Haryana bandh on Saturday following the killing of one youth during the clashes between the police and the agitators.
The protesters are sitting on the track with the of the youth and demanding the release of its leaders arrested in a clash with the police. The protesters had blocked the roads leading into Hisar and has affected neighbouring district of Hisar, Fatehabad and Jind.
Hisar remained tense as agitation spread to other districts of Jind, Bhiwani and Fatheabad in Haryana. The jat community is protesting for reservation of jobs in other backward class quota.
On Friday, a ruckus was created in Haryana Assembly over the issue as the 17 Opposition MLAs were suspended when they creates pandemonium in the house.
The ruling Congress party charged opposition INLD of politicising the issue and flaring up the jat agitation.
During the Zero Hour, a verbal duel broke out between the Opposition and ruling benches, with parliamentary affairs minister Randeep Singh Surjewala launching attack on the INLD for flaring up the agitation.
