Jaya declined RS seat for Big B: Amar

Expelled SP leader Amar Singh attributed the decision of Jaya Bachchan to turn down the offer of the Samajwadi Party for Rajya Sabha renomination to her husband Amitabh Bachchan’s views that his family should be away from politics. Mrs Bachchan had on Friday surprised the SP leadership by turning down the offer of renomination of the Rajya Sabha.

Though Mr Singh was widely speculated to have been behind the decision of Mrs Bachchan, the expelled SP leader explained in his blog that he had rather given his views to the Bachchan family that Mrs Bachchan’s decision to opt for party first be respected.
“Even on the Friday, I had called Amitabh and requested him to allow Mrs Bachchan to contest the RS elections,” Mr Singh wrote in his blog.
