JD-U blames Congress, BJP for impasse in Parliament
Amidst din in Parliament, the JD(U), while blaming the Congress and the BJP for disruptions in the proceedings, sought smooth business in both Houses of Parliament. The JD(U) called upon the Congress and BJP to sit together and resolve the repeated disruptions of the proceedings of Parliament.
Claiming that both the Congress and BJP are not serious about running the House, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav on Wednesday said that other parties want Parliament to function. He advised that the two parties need to sit together to find a way out of the impasse instead of involving all the parties.
The JD(U) came out with its statement for the smooth functioning of Parliament after parliamentary affairs minister Kamal Nath called up Mr Yadav in a bid to seek his support for conducting businesses in both Houses of the Parliament.
Mr Nath reportedly told the JD(U) chief that if normalcy does not return to Parliament it would better to adjourn it sine die. Mr Nath also reportedly took up the issue of the National Food Security Ordinance, which is awaiting parliamentary ratification. The government’s efforts to get it passed on Tuesday proved futile after Parliament could not function following din over the missing files of the coal-block allocations.
