JD-U irked by bihar BJP invite to gujarat CM
The BJP in Bihar is no longer willing to honour ruling ally JD(U)’s insistence on keeping Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi away from the eastern state. The national party is going to invite Mr Modi to attend a rally in Patna in March next year.
Much to the chagrin of the JD(U), which has so far painstakingly managed both a secular image and a ruling alliance with the BJP in Bihar for seven years, BJP state president C.P. Thakur said Friday the party’s “Hunkar rally” would have the Gujarat strongman among the speakers.
“Preparations for this rally are on. All our party’s chief ministers will be invited. Narendra Modi is no exception. He, too, will be invited,” Mr Thakur said.
