Jetlite flight forced to land after tech snag
A Bengaluru-bound JetLite flight, with 173 passengers on-board, was forced to return to the airport shortly after takeoff after one of the engines developed a technical snag on Monday afternoon. The aircraft deplaned safely and the passengers are reported to be safe.
Full emergency was declared for the landing of the aircraft. “At 12.33 pm, full emergency was declared for the flight. The aircraft took off at 11.22 am from Mumbai and returned due to some problem with the engine,” said a spokesperson of Mumbai International Airport Limited.
According to the spokesperson, the aircraft landed safely on runway 27 at 12.36 pm and was taken to Bay 40. “The emergency was withdrawn at 12.40 pm after ensuring that the plane landed safe,” the spokesperson added. Another source said that other scheduled flights were then allowed to land on the runway after the emergency was withdrawn.
