Joint effort will resolve House logjam: Meira
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Friday said that the current logjam in Parliament can be resolved only through the joint efforts of the government and the Opposition. She was speaking at an interactive session jointly organised by the Bharat Chamber of Commerce, the Calcutta Chamber of Commerce, the Indian Chamber of Commerce and the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata.
Ms Kumar said, “All the warring parties, including the ruling party as well as the Opposition, should come together and find a solution. Dialogue is the only way to get a solution. Democracy means to bring a mid-path and find solutions. The MPs should also be self-regulatory.” The business of the winter session of the Parliament was stalled by the Oppositions after they had demanded for Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the 2G spectrum scam.
