Kalpatty farmhouse to play host to Jaya
The sprawling, two-acre farmhouse at Kalapatty, on the outskirts of the city, is getting spruced up for AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa’s stay during her election campaign here.
Sources said the 40 cent, spacious bungalow has more than 15 big rooms and belongs to Mr Selvaraj, who owns a mill at Arasur. The farmhouse, where he resides, is situated just 1 kilometre from the four road junction and 4 km from the Peelamedu airport.
The entire farmhouse has been refurbished for Ms Jayalalithaa’s visit. The house is nestled amidst a coconut grove to give a green ambience. Moreover, the farmhouse is well protected with a high compound wall with electric fencing to ward off
intruders.

Karuna to campaign March 23
Chennai, March 19: DMK president and Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi will kickstart his election campaign for the April 13 assembly polls on March 23 from his home turf Tiruvarur and file his nomination papers to contest from there the next day.
The 87 year-old leader will address three public meetings at Tiruvarur (March 23), Thanjavur (Mar24) and Tiruchirappalli (Mar25), a DMK release here said. He will file his nomination on March 24 at 11 am at Tiruvarur, it said.
