Kanimozhi made IT for Raja’s sake

Dec. 11: The DMK Rajya Sabha member, Ms Kanimozhi, had played an important role in getting Mr A. Raja into the UPA-II government as the minister for IT and communication, even sacrificing her own chance of becoming a minister of state that was offered to her by the Congress, the Radia tapes reveal.

Outlook magazine has now claimed having “unearthed” 800 new tapped conversations involving the lobbyist, Ms Niira Radia in the 2G spectrum scam. These conversations were part of officially sanctioned phone-taps, and come on top of the 140 phone conversations published by Outlook magazine three weeks ago.

In another conversation, Ms Radia says: “Karunanidhi wants Raja because he is a Dalit. The Prime Minister is only insistent that former shipping minister T.R. Baalu (charged of corruption in UPA-I) should not be in the Cabinet.”
