Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on Thursday visited Bangalore's K C Hospital to meet injured survivors of Wednesday's bomb blast. Talking to reporters outside the hospital, Shettar said: "Met the injured today. State government will take care of their medical needs."
He said the police has started a comprehensive investigation and central agencies are also assisting them in the process.
"Investigation is going on, we will soon know the details," he added.
Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had on Wednesday sought an inquiry into the blast.
"I came to know about the Bangalore incident, we certainly will start an inquiry now. I will have an interaction with the Government of Karnataka and also the police department, and I will inquire into it," Shinde said.
Cars parked at the office in the Malleswaram area of Bangalore, a crowded residential neighbourhood, were gutted in the blast, in which 16 people, including eight cops were injured.
The blast has taken place just weeks before Karnataka goes for assembly polls.
There was a huge crowd of BJP workers at the party office in Bangalore as Wednesday was the last day to file nominations. The polls are scheduled on May 5 and the counting of votes will be taken up on May 8.
