Karnataka Dalit may host Rahul
Bengaluru, Aug. 11: Will Mr Rahul Gandhi try another Dalit’s homestay, this time around in Karnataka?
The AICC general secretary is likely to stay in a Dalit’s house during his two-day whirlwind tour of Karnataka.
In fact, three villages close to the twin cities of Hubli-Dharwad have been short-listed for the leader’s stay on Friday, August 13 night.
Other details, however, are being kept under wraps with neither senior Congress leaders nor the top brass of the state police force in the know about his plans for a homestay.
Sources in the Youth Congress, however, confirmed that Mr Gandhi would spend the night in a village close to Hubli-Dharwad.
He would be accompanied by Mr Hibi Eden, president of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and Ms Meenakshi Natarajan, MP and AICC secretary during the leader’s two-day heli-hop trip to motivate students to join politics.
The sources said Mr Gandhi would commence the tour with an interaction with students at St.
Philomena’s college, Mysore, on Friday morning, followed by similar discussions at Kuvempu Rangamandira in Shimoga and Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering & Technology, Dharwad, in the afternoon.
