Karunakaran son to launch TV channel

A much-mellowed K. Muraleedharan, son of late veteran K. Karunakaran, said that the Janapriya TV channel that he was planning to launch will not go the way of the Sakshi channel run by the Andhra rebel leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

It may be recalled that Sakshi channel had carried reports castigating the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son, Mr Rahul Gandhi, paving the way for Mr Jagan’s exit from the party.
Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Muraleedharan said that his channel would be independent. “But it will not be like Sakshi,” he said, without elaborating’. “Mr Jagan had criticised Congress leaders deliberately and he is paying the price for that.” He added that both the Opposition leader Oommen Chandy and KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala had asked him to go ahead with the launch.
