Kasab lawyer kin clinic attacked

An unknown person lobbed a brick at the glass window of a dental clinic owned by lawyer Farhana Shah’s (Ajmal Kasab’s lawyer) brother-in-law. According to the VP Road police, the incident happened at around 1 pm on Sunday.

The man threw a brick at the clinic located near the Delhi Darbar restaurant on Grant Road, owned by Dr Akhtar Shah.
Mr Shah, along with some bystanders, caught hold of the man and called the police. However, Mr Shah claimed that the man escaped from the police’s clutches. “We had taken him to the police station and handed him over to the officer on duty at the VP Road police station. However, the man somehow managed to run away from the police station,” agreed Ms Shah.
The police, however, denied that an accused had escaped from its custody. “It seems that the man had some dispute with Dr Shah, which led to the incident. He had brought the man to the police station and we had asked them to wait as we were dealing with another case at the time.
Meanwhile, the man walked out of the police station. We have registered a non-cognisable case against him and further inquiries are on,” said Mr P. Bandalkar, police sub-inspector, VP Road police station.
