‘Kashmir issue is political’
Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday reiterated that Kashmir “is not the issue of money or gun but a political one.” He added that its genesis was linked with New Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan.
While addressing a public rally at Sumbal near here, the chief minister said, “The resolution of political issues of
Jammu and Kashmir is a human duty to be rendered to seek permanent peace and prosperity in the sub-continent.”
He, however, hastened to add that the issues of development could not be made sub-servant to the final solution of political problems. He said that he has made it clear time and again that the elections, whether of Parliament, state legislature or panchayats, are not answer to the resolution of political issues of Jammu and Kashmir.
