Kerala government to institute award in memory of Verghese Kurien
Kerala government would institute an award in memory of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the 'father of white revolution' also known as the 'Amul man', state Dairy Development Minister K.C. Joseph said.
The award, carrying a cash prize of Rs one lakh and citation, would be given to the most efficient primary apex dairy society in the state, Joseph said in a release here.
A committee, comprising Dairy Director, 'Milma' Chairman and three regional chairpersons, had been constituted to fix the criteria for selecting the best dairy society, he said.
The committee has been asked to submit its report before October 15.
