Kerala lover stands exposed as breeze lifts purdah

A youth from Kannur, accompanying his girl friend disguised as another girl on a city bus in Kochi, gave some interesting moments to the police and the public here as wind played spoilsport and lifted the purdah he was wearing.

Police said Prince, 21, was caught when he was rubbing shoulders with his girlfriend in a bus from Thuravoor to Vyttila.

According to police, the girl’s relatives knew about the duo’s relationship and have been warning them against carrying on with the affair. However, Prince was not ready to back off.

“Prince chose a filmy way to meet his girlfriend and got into the bus after wearing the purdah. They were sitting together on a seat when the veil was lifted in the wind. His face was revealed for a brief while, when some of the passengers had a glimpse of the man behind the veil. In a jiffy, they caught him,” police said.

The bus was ordered to a halt near Vyttila police station and the passengers had the man handed over to the police. Police as well as onlookers had a hearty laugh over the Prince in Purdah, as it was made clear he used the veil only to be with his girlfriend and not for anti-social activities.

The girlfriend, embarrassed though, too could not control her laughter, a witness claimed.

Prince was released after a stern warning, police said.
