Kiran Kumar Reddy begins plan to stop pro-AP stir
Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has started the exercise to control the Seemandhra agitation that is intensifying every day. On Thursday, he discussed the Seemandhra agitation with some of his Cabinet colleagues and MLAs belonging to Seemandhra region at his camp office.
The Chief Minister sought the ministers’ opinion on how to control the Seemandhra agitation while ensuring that there is no fresh agitation in the Telangana area and how to get political mileage for the Congress.
Among the ministers who met the Chief Minister are Pitani Satyanarayana, P. Viswaroop, MLA Venkateswar Reddy among others. According to sources, the high command asked the CM to control the Seemandhra agitation and restore normalcy.
Over two lakh government teachers have joined the agitation while around four lakh government employees are already protesting against the state’s division. When the CM asked about Seemandhra agitation, the ministers said people from the area are voluntarily protesting.
Unless any positive decision from high command how can we convince the people ministers asked. All the sections of Seemandhra area are participating in the agitation; we may convince one or two sections but not all they said. The agitation is not in the hands of political leaders, in fact leaders are following the people.
According to sources the Chief Minister asked the minister P Viswa Roop about his statement that he will quit the congress party if high command won’t take a decision in favour of United Andhra Pradesh before November 1 the state formation day. Chief Minister asked him not to take any hasty decision. But the minister replied him that he will wait up to November 1 and will announce his decision on 2 November.
The Ministers said the Chief Minister even though TD and YSRC also supported the Telangana issue Seemandhra people are accusing the Congress party only. They are very angry with the party, in this situation how can we get political advantage they questioned. The Ministers opined at least high command gives an assurance to make Hyderabad city as a Union territory or special status we can not convince the Seemandhra people.
Mean while the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy met Tamilnadu Governor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh K Rosaiah at his residence at Hyderabad. Rosaih was in the city in connection with his grand daughter’s marriage. They discussed about Seemandhra agitation and on latest political situation. PCC Chief Botsa Satya Narayana also met Rosaiah on Wednesday.
