Krishna to Khar: Act fast on 26/11 culprits
Stepping up pressure on Pakistan to take action quickly over the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, India said on Sunday that normalisation of bilateral relations can “only be in an atmosphere free of terror”, stressing the need for creation of the “right” ambience.
External affairs minister S.M. Krishna, at his 30-minute meeting with Pakistani’s foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar here, underlined the importance swift action to bring the perpetrators of 26/11 to justice, saying New Delhi has given more concrete evidence against those involved.
Mr Krishna, who met Ms Khar on the sidelines of a conference on Afghanistan, also raised the issue of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba founder Hafiz Saeed’s “pouring venom” and continued anti-India propaganda, official sources said. The two ministers had “candid and constructive discussions” in a cordial atmosphere, when they also shared their assessment of the outcome of the talks between the two foreign secretaries in New Delhi two days ago, the sources added.
