Lalu attacks Nitish, Congress

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad on Saturday accused his arch rival chief minister Nitish Kumar and the Congress of hatching a “larger conspiracy” to weaken the cause of social justice in Bihar and said people had understood their game plan and would defeat them in the Assembly polls.
“Nitish and the Congress usurped the reins of power from our hand to thrust upon difficulties and miseries on the people under a larger conspiracy to weaken the cause of social justice,” Mr Lalu Prasad said at a function where JD(U) leader Virendra Kumar Choudhary joined the RJD along with his supporters.
He said LJP president Ramvilas Paswan’s decision to go alone in the 2005 Assembly polls also contributed to the electoral reverses suffered by the RJD.
“But we are happy that Mr Paswan is with us (this time),” he said and added that the people of the state had made up their minds to ensure that the JD(U)-BJP alliance and Congress bite the dust in the coming Assembly polls.
Referring to the allegations pertaining to the multi-crore fodder scam, Mr Lalu Prasad alleged that the chief minister was facing similar charges at present. “Why is he (Kumar) worried about a CBI probe into the allegations of corruption against him,” Mr Lalu Prasad asked and said Mr Kumar has lost confidence.
The RJD chief said the CAG report highlighted fraud in supply of foodgrains to flood victims in Khagaria. “The CAG enquiry reveals that the foodgrains were transported for flood relief on trucks that bore the registration numbers of scooters,” he said.
“Where are all the petitioners who got me falsely booked in the fodder scam cases. What are they doing now?” he asked.
